PTO GEARING UP FOR 2013-2014 SCHOOL YEAR!

Our biggest, best, most fun PTO Meeting of the year is TONIGHT May 21 at 7 pm in the Black Rock library! This is the one when we decide which fundraisers to have, choose coordinators and gather teams for them all!! Some are already filled with prior coordinators, but we still need great teams to work with. Please let us know if you are interested in any of these positions or teams! 50′s Day at Black Rock 5/16

Don’t forget to deck the kids out in 50′s clothes Thursday, May 16th. They will be learning some fun dances at school taught by our local DanceSpace Academy. Dinner at Gunther Toody’s (5/16) is our last spirit dinner night for the school year! They are donating a percentage back to Black Rock depending on how much participation we have, so spread the word!

National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6th – 10th

Lui’s Wok and Grill spirit night tonight!

Tonight Tuesday, April 23, is our Black Rock Spirit night at Lui’s Wok and Grill in Erie! Come out and support a great local, family owned restaurant and give them a big Thank You for supporting Black Rock Elementary! They are giving back to us 20% of our sales.

PTO voting meeting!

Our last weeks scheduled meeting was cancelled due to snow and it was rescheduled for Tues April 16th. We meet at 7:00 in the library at school. Child care is provided. We are looking to fill spots for next years board and we also just want to have more input from the families at Black Rock.

Please come and help out YOUR school! We need LOTS of parent involvement to continue to make this school the amazing place it is for our kids!

Just a small amount of time on your part can make a world of difference!

Milk Caps for Mooola!

There is a new way of earning Black Rock Elementary Free Money!!!!

Longmont Dairy has started

Milk Caps for MOOOLA

All you need to do is save your caps and drop them off in the collection bins near the front office at school. BRE will receive 5 cents for every cap. It’s that easy! Please pass the word onto every one you know that drinks Longmont Dairy products even if they don’t go to Black Rock!

Ever wonder what happens at PTO meetings?

Do your kids love using the iPads in class? Have you noticed how happy our school staff is after late start breakfasts? How about the amazing events that happen at Black Rock like our silent auction, the golf tournament, the jog a thon or Black Rock Gives Back? These are just some of the ideas that have come to happen after PTO meetings. Our PTO Board has some positions that will need to be filled for next school year and we are taking nominations right now! If you have EVER wondered what happens at PTO meetings… why not come and see and hear and be a part of this amazing organization that is super important to Black Rock Elementary. This year the PTO has already helped to raise 10′s of thousands of dollars that helps to make BRE an incredible school. Think of how much more we could be doing to help our kids and our school if more parents and teachers were a part of the PTO? The more the merrier! Please consider the difference you can make by being a part of the PTO at Black Rock and consider nominating your self for a PTO board position! Nominations and Voting for board positions will happen at our next PTO meeting,

April 9th, at 7:00 in the library at Black Rock.
